The Unseen Forces That Can Throw Us Off Balance

Our bodies are designed to exist in a state of homeostasis - a word I also had to look up.
Put simply, it means balance. Everything working in harmony, just as it should.
But if we’re honest, most of us are rarely in that state.
Modern life pulls us away from it constantly. Processed foods, alcohol, lack of sleep, and overstimulation all contribute to a nervous system that’s quietly overwhelmed. And over time, that imbalance starts to show up - in our energy, our mood, and how connected we feel to ourselves.
But that’s only part of the story.
The Spring Equinox and Your Energy
Around the time of the Spring Equinox, when day and night are in equal balance, many people notice a shift, even if they can’t quite explain it.
Energetically, it’s a powerful moment of transition.
Light and dark sit in perfect harmony, and your body is trying to recalibrate alongside it. You might feel more emotional, restless, or unsettled. Sleep can be disrupted. Dreams can become more vivid (or just plain strange, I’ve definitely been there).
This isn’t random.
It’s your system adjusting.
The Hidden Imbalance of Modern Life
Alongside these natural shifts, we’re also surrounded by constant, low-level stimulation that our bodies were never designed for.
Wi-Fi, phone signals, and noise pollution all play a role. (And yes, the Victoria line absolutely counts.)
Individually, they might seem small. But together, they create a kind of background noise that keeps the nervous system on edge.
It’s subtle. But it builds.
And over time, it can leave you feeling anxious, disconnected, or just not quite yourself.
What We’ve Lost (And Why It Matters)
There’s a reason so many of us feel better after time away.
A walk in nature. A weekend offline. A week in the mountains.
Ancient cultures lived in much closer connection to the natural world — surrounded by forests, rivers, stillness. Their bodies had space to regulate, reset, and return to balance.
I notice it every time I go to the Alps, I am so lucky to get to ski! There’s a clarity that comes back. A sense of perspective. Like my system can finally exhale.
And then, of course, we return to real life.
So What Does Balance Actually Feel Like?
When your body begins to return to its natural state, things shift in a very noticeable way.
You might feel:
✨ More emotionally steady
✨ Energised, but calm
✨ More connected to yourself and your intuition
✨ Less reactive, more grounded
✨ Able to rest properly, not just switch off
This is what balance feels like.
Not perfect. Not polished. Just… regulated.
How Sound Healing Helps You Rebalance
This is where sound healing becomes incredibly powerful.
Through frequency, rhythm, and vibration, sound baths help guide the body back into a state of balance. The nervous system begins to slow down, brainwaves soften, and the body remembers what it feels like to rest.
In my work with House of Butterfly, I see this shift happen again and again, whether in corporate, local or private event sound baths or more intimate, one-to-one sessions.
For busy professionals, it’s often the first time they’ve properly switched off in weeks.
For others, it’s a way to reconnect — to themselves, their bodies, and something deeper.
A Space to Reset
In my Luxury Resonance Ritual, this rebalancing is taken even further.
With ritual cacao, crystal healing, and sound, the entire experience is designed to gently bring you back into alignment — physically, emotionally, and energetically.
It’s not about fixing anything.
It’s about giving your body the space it needs to return to what it already knows.
Balance.
